Content pun dah lupa tulis pasal apa, sebab yang tu fully english, n dah lama gila buat. But, it's okay. Kita type baru je la.

Firstly, this blog purposely created to jot down my postgraduate journey. Bukan tak nak letak dekat social media, cuma rasanya ranting akan jadi lagi panjang and blog is more proper platform, i guess. Sebab tu la nama blog ni macam tu.
Sambung Master kat mana?
Ambik course apa?
Berapa lama?
Macam kebanyakan orang dah tahu, I've got my bachelor degree (BSc) from UUM, specifically School Of Quantitative Sciences (SQS). Course Decision Science. Belajar pasal operational research, data science, decision making techniques, optimization, statistics. Tu keyword dia la. Boleh google dulu or bila ada masa, I'll explain in the future insya Allah.
Buat postgrad dekat school yang sama (MSc. Dec. Sc.), course yang sama. Students can pursue postgrad studies lain dari previous undergrad field sebenarnya, but I prefer to stick with Decision Science. Baru je register awal Oktober haritu.
Since I am doing full research, maximum period of study is 3 years untuk full time. Tu in case nak defer ke apa lah. Normally orang buat 1 to 2 years. Depends. Ada je yang nak sambung part time, so period of study elongates.
Sama macam undergrad jugak, full time dengan part time obviously beza dia dari segi period of study and fee. Part time selalunya lagi murah & lagi panjang semester.
Postgrad studies normally ada 3 mode; coursework (kelas), mix mode (kelas + dissertation), research (full thesis). Requirement untuk grad for each mode pun berbeza mengikut universiti.
Macam mana nak apply postgrad? Generally, kena buat ni:
- determine prospect studies (nak sambung course apa). Dulu waktu undergrad mesti ada suka certain subject/master certain software kan? Try la seek advice with experts related dengan field interest tu. Ilmu dalam dunia ni tak boleh berdiri sendiri, mesti connected dengan something else.
- pilih universiti. Ada orang prefer yuran murah, ada orang prefer yang dekat dengan rumah, ada orang nak gain new experience. You?
- cari iklan dekat website/social media universiti. Keyword: academic, postgraduate, Master, HEA. Dulu, I direct google my school's website. Dia attached link. School pun ada blast email dekat students.
- alert tarikh application.
- go thoroughly for fees, offered mode, requirement. Lain universiti, lain sistemnya. Spend more time on compare and contrast before decide nak submit application
- contact person in charge for further details. Dekat hujung iklan kebanyakannya ada contact number/email PIC ni. They will entertain you accordingly.
Previously, in my case, I've determined nak buat research mode, dekat SQS. Sebab:
- nak masa sendiri
- tak nak pergi kelas on weekly basis for a long term
- sebab ada lecturer offer grant so, boleh jadi Research Assistant (RA)
- dah tahu sikit-sikit cara kerja SV
- sebab memang nak buat research
In all, postgraduate studies is still a commitment. Some people may want to secure job first, some may want to build marriage. Jangan buat something sebab ikut-ikut orang. You're already grown up to be affected by peer pressure. Maybe some of us opt for further studies as their last resort, again, jangan rasa pressure, jangan ambil mudah.
